1. Requirement for Articles
The journal mainly publishes original research papers, research notes, letters and reports about new technology on animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, feed science and other related fields. These articles can refer to basic theory, applied research and high-tech, etc. A manuscript must offer detailed document and reliable data. The innovative idea should be described concisely and definitely. A review should report the recent progress in animal science, and it should be of guiding significance for development of animal science.
2. Manuscript Organization
Microsoft word files are required for all manuscripts. Generally, the manuscript should be arranged in the following sections and appear in order: Title, Abstract and Key words, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements and References. All manuscripts should be written in clear and grammatically correct English.
3. Title Page
The title page should include title of the article; full name, institutions and addresses (nation, city and postcode) of authors; the first author’s year of birth, gender, nationality, professional title and degree, research field, research findings, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address; and the corresponding author’s detailed postal and e-mail addresses and phone and fax numbers. The title should be succinct, informative and descriptive, with 90 characters (including spaces) for Letters, 75 characters (including spaces) for Articles, and 20 characters for Chinese title. Acronym, symbol, formula, and nonstandard abbreviation should be avoided. If there are authors with different affiliations, use superscripts to match authors with institutions. Family name of all authors and the initials of given name should be capitals, e.g., LEE Jung-Shin, ROEDER Robert G. and JIANG Ze-ming.
4. Abstract and Key Words
The English abstract should contain less than 300 words (Chinese abstract not exceed 200 words) and summarize the questions being addressed, the approach taken, the major findings, and the significance of the results. Structural abstract is required for the experimental study, and the markers [Objective], [Method], [Result], and [Conclusion] should be retained in abstract. Key words (3–5 words) should be supplied following the abstract.
5. Tables and Figures
Prepare charts using Word’s table feature. Number tables and figures consecutively according to the order in which they are called out in the text. Provide a concise title for each chart. The titles and footnotes should be placed regularly outside the chart body. Figures constructed in excel should be accompanied with data source. All figures should be unambiguous.
6. Numerical Digit and Units
Units should have a single space between the number and the unit, and follow SI nomenclature or the nomenclature common to a particular field. Thousands should be separated by a space (e.g., 1 000).
7. References
Only articles that have been published or submitted to a named publication should be in the reference list. References are each numbered, ordered sequentially as they appear in the paper. Please follow the style below in the published edition of Animal Husbandry and Feed Science in preparing reference lists.
