  • Technological Conditions of Salting Out Method for Extracting Shaddock Peel Pectin

    [Objective] The precipitation conditions of salting out method for extracting shaddock peel pectin were studied. [Method] Taking shaddock peel as the raw material, the optimal technological conditions for pectin precipitation were obtained by precipitating shaddock peel under dif-ferent salting-out conditions. [Result] The optimal conditions of salting out method for precipitating shaddock peel pectin were as follows: aluminum sulfate saturated solution: pectin extract 1∶1, salting out time 60 min, salting out temperature 60℃, salting out pH 4, and the extraction rate reached 6.8%. [Conclusion] Precipitation of pectin through salting out method reduced the consumption of ethanol, energy consumption and production cost.

  • Effect of Pelleted Total Mixed Ration with Different Concentrate-roughage Ratios on Production Performance and Serum Biochemical Parameters of Fattening Hainan Black Goats

    [Objective] This paper was to study effects of pelleted total mixed ration with different concentrate-roughage ratios on production performance and serum biochemical parameters of fattening Hainan black goats. [Method] Thirty-six fattening Hainan black goats with the same genetic background and similar initial weight of(14.08±0.13) kg were randomly assigned into three treatments. Goats were fed with Juncao + concentrate(control group), pelleted total mixed ration I(concentrate: roughage 50 ∶50, group Ⅰ) and Ⅱ(concentrate: roughage 45∶55, group Ⅱ), respectively. The test lasted 45 d. [Result] The final weight, daily gain and feed intake of rams in experimental group Ⅰ were significantly higher than those of control group and experimental group Ⅱ(P<0.05); the final weight and daily gain of rams in experimental group Ⅰ were also markedly higher than those of experimental group Ⅱ(P<0.05); the feed/gain of rams in experimental group Ⅰ was significantly lower than those in control group and experimental group Ⅱ(P<0.05). The feed gain cost of rams in experimental group Ⅰ was markedly lower than that in experimental group Ⅱ( P<0.05), but was significantly higher than that in experimental group Ⅰ(P<0.05); the gross profit of rams in experimental group Ⅰ was significantly higher than those in control group and experimental group Ⅱ(P<0.05). Compared with control group and experimental group Ⅱ, the serum total protein and glucose lev-els in experimental group Ⅱ increased significantly(P<0.05), but the urea nitrogen content reduced(P>0.05). [Conclusion] When the concentrateroughage ratio of pelleted total mixed ration was 50∶50, the fattening effect of Hainan black goat was better, and the serum total protein and glucose levels were evidently improved.

  • Feeding Effect of Codariocalyx gyroides on Meat Rabbits

    To explore the feeding effect of Codariocalyx gyroides on meat rabbits, 30 healthy meat rabbits at the age of 50 days were randomly divided into five groups(Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ and Ⅴ), six rabbits each group. Rabbits in experimental groups Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ were fed with different quantita-tive complete formula feed and unlimited fresh grass of C. gyroides, and those in group Ⅴ(control group) were fed with complete formula feed. The indicators such as feed intake and growth performance were measured after 60 d. The results showed that the gaining effects of meat rabbits in ex-perimental groups Ⅳ and Ⅲ were most obvious, and the daily gain reached(25.75 ±3.00) and(24.50±1.95) g, 20.72% and 14.86% higher than those in control group, respectively. The conversion efficiency of dry matter in experimental group Ⅲ was the highest, and only 2.99 g of C. gyroides and compound feed dry matter was consumed for the growth of 1 g of rabbit meat, receiving significant economic benefit.

  • Effects of Dietary Crude Fiber Levels on Growth Performance and Serum Biochemical Index of Dingan Geese Aged from 35 to 70 Days

    [Objective] The study was carried out to investigate the effects of dietary crude fiber on growth performance and serum biochemical in-dex of Dingan geese aged from 35 to 70 days. [Method] A total of 120 Dingan geese on day 28 with the same genetic background and similar initial weight(1 384.83.73±0.76 g) were randomly assigned into 3 groups, with 4 replicates per group and 10 geese per replicate. Geese were fed the diets containing 4.29%, 5.29% and 6.29 % crude fiber, respectively. The experiment lasted 35 d. [Result] Final weight and daily gain of 5.29 %CF group were significantly higher than those of 6.29 % CF group(P<0.05); Feed intake was markedly higher than those of 4.29% and 6.29 % CF groups(P<0.05); Feed gain ratio was significantly lower than that of 6.29 % CF group(P<0.05). Compared with 4.29% and 6.29 % CF groups, serum albumin concentrations of 5.29 % CF group increased significantly(P<0.05), while serum total protein and globin contents were higher(P>0.05), but serum uric acid level was lower(P>0.05). [Conclusion] 5.29 % crude fiber could lead to higher growth performance of Dingan geese.

[Method] Twenty-four growing Hainan black goats with the same genetic backgrounds and similar initial weight of(10.05±0.049) kg were randomly assigned into two treatments, and supplied with Juncao + concentrate(control group), pelleted total mixed ration(experimental group), respectively. The trial lasted 50 d. [Result] The final weight, daily gain and feed intake of experimental group were significantly higher than those of control group(P<0.05), but the feed/gain ratio of experimental group was markedly lower than that of control group(P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the gross profit of experimental group significantly increased( P <0.05). [Conclusion] Pelleted total mixed ration led to better production performance of growing Hainan black goat.

    [Objective] The paper to investigate the effects of pelleted total mixed ration of different particle size on production performance and serum biochemical index of fattening Hainan black goats. [Method] Thirty-six fattening Hainan black goats with the same genetic backgrounds and similar initial weight of(19.02±0.22) kg were randomly divided into three treatments. Goats were fed with Juncao+concentrate(control group), pel-leted total mixed ration I(particle size 6 mm, experimental group I) and II(particle size 5 mm, experimental group II), respectively. The trial lasted 45 d. [Result](1) The final weight and daily gain of experimental group II were significantly higher than those of control group( P<0.05), and the daily gain of experimental group II was also higher than that of experimental group I(P<0.05); the feed intake of experimental group II was markedly higher than that of control group(P<0.05), but was significantly lower than that of experimental group I(P<0.05). The feed/gain ratio of experimental group II was significantly lower than those of control group and experimental group I(P<0.05).(2) The feed gain cost of experimental group II was markedly lower than that of control group(P<0.05), but the gross profit was significantly higher than those of control group and experimental group I(P<0.05).(3) Compared with the control group, the serum total protein content of experimental group II increased markedly( P<0.05) while the urea nitrogen level decreased(P>0.05). [Conclusion] The pelleted total mixed ration with the particle size of 5 mm obtained better fattening ef-fect, and obviously improved the serum total protein level.

  • Prevention and Treatment Strategy of Highly Pathogenic Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome(HP-PRRS)

    At the present stage, the social economy in China has developed by leaps and bounds. China's pig industry has been well developed un-der the background of this era. However, the number of pig diseases increases due to the influence of many factors, and highly pathogenic porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome(HP-PRRS) is one of the very common diseases, causing growing mortality rate of pigs. The disease increases the economic loss of pig industry to a large extent, and brings difficulties in prevention and control of pig diseases. The staff must analyze and sum-marize the basic characteristics of pig diseases, and combine some practical problems in prevention and control of pig disease to find effective mea-sures. The scope and scale of pig production in different parts of China have been continuously expanded under the background of further develop-ment of pig industry in the new era. But for pig production, pig disease has been a problem that delays its further development. Related personnel must analyze and summarize the status quo of HP-PRRS, to find effective prevention measures and strategy.

  • Isolation, Identification and Drug Susceptibility Test of a Strain of Escherichia coli Causing Fox Pneumonia

    [Objective] The paper was to determine the pathogen causing fox pneumonia in a breeding factory in Changli County. [Method]Through autopsy, a dominant strain was isolated from the lung of dead foxes, which was then performed Gram staining, 16 S rRNA sequence analysis and biochemical identification. [Result] The strain was negative in Gram staining, and was identified as E. coli through 16 S rRNA sequence analysis and biochemical identification. Drug susceptibility test was conducted using 15 kinds of drug susceptibility papers. The E. coli was sensitive to florfenicol, enrofloxacin, ceftriaxone, norfloxacin; intermediately sensitive to amikacin, gentamicin; and strongly resistant to penicillin, ampicillin,cefradine, sulfamethoxazole, lincomycin, streptomycin and amoxicillin. [Conclusion] It is difficult to treat E. coli causing fox pneumonia with traditional antibiotics clinically.

  • Correlation Analysis of Drug Resistance and Resistant Genotypes of Pathogenic Klebsiella peneumoniae from Racoon Dog to Fluoroquinolones

    [Objective] The paper was to analyze the correlation between drug resistance and resistant genotypes of pathogenic Klebsiella peneumoniae from racoon dog to fluoroquinolones. [Method] The drug resistance and resistant genes of 24 strains of pathogenic K. peneumoniae from racoon dog to fluoroquinolones were detected by K-B drug susceptibility paper and PCR. [Result] Multiple drug-resistant strains were dominant among 24 strains of pathogenic K. peneumoniae, and the drug resistance to levofloxacin, enrofloxacin, ciprofloxacin and norfloxacin was 70.8%-79.2%; the strains resistant to 4, 3 and 2 antibiotics were 58.3%, 29.2% and 8.3%, respectively. The detection rates of drug-resistant genes TEM, gyrB, parC,parE, gyrA and SHV were 75%-100%, and the number of strains carrying 9, 8, 7, 6, 4 and 3 drug-resistant genes was 4.2%-41.7%. Comparison of drug-resistant genes and drug resistance showed that the coincidence rates of levofloxacin, enrofloxacin, ciprofloxacin and norfloxacin were 78.9%-100%. [Conclusion] There were certain correlation between drug resistance and resistant genotypes of 24 strains of pathogenic Klebsiella peneumo-niae to fluoroquinolones.

  • Isolation and Identification of Four Strains of Salmonella and Drug Susceptibility Test

    In order to isolate and identify the pathogenic bacteria causing dead chickens in a chicken farm in Qinhuangdao area, the liver, heart and other organs of dead chickens suspected of salmonella disease were collected aseptically, and streaked on SS agar medium and chromagar medium. Transparent colonies were observed on SS agar medium, and purple and transparent colonies on CAS medium. The isolate was conducted purification, staining microscopy, biochemical tests, and 16 S rRNA sequence analysis, and the results showed that four strains of the isolated bacte-ria were salmonella. The 16 S rRNA sequence analysis of four strains of salmonella showed that the isolates shared more than 99% homology. Drug susceptibility test was performed using paper method, and the results showed that most of the strains were resistant to tilmicosin, cefradine and sul-famethoxazole, but were sensitive to ceftriaxone.

  • Associated Bacteriostasis Research of Coptidis Rhizoma-Folium Isatidis and Coptidis Rhizoma-Flos Poprli against Escherichia coli O_2

    [Objective] The paper was to explore the combined inhibitory effect of rhizoma coptidis-folium isatidis and rhizoma coptidis-flos poprli against Escherichia coli O_2. [Method] Contrast test of single and associated bacteriostasis against known serotype E. coli O_2 was conducted using microcheckerboard method. [Result] The MIC of rhizoma coptidis, folium isatidis and flos poprli were 1/8 extracting liquid, 1/8 extracting liquid and 1/2 extracting liquid, respectively. When combined with folium isatidis or flos poprli, the MIC of rhizoma coptidis was 1/8 extracting liq-uid or 1/16 extracting liquid compared with single use. When combined with rhizoma coptidis, the MIC of folium isatidis and flos poprli were 1/8 extracting liquid and 1/16 extracting liquid. [Conclusion] When rhizoma coptidis was combined with folium isatidis or flos poprli, the FIC values were 2 and 0.625, performing independent action and additive effect, respectively.
